Starting my journey

Here I am with my PEG and PORT that were installed 10-14-05. The PEG is a feeding tube that I will probably start using in 2 to 3 weeks. I will need this because the radiation will cause large sores in my mouth so it will be too painful to swallow. I will need nurishment and water so this is how I will get it. The PORT is a ball placed under the skin attached to the vein for injections of chemo and other meds.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
You need to get better soon cause who'll close all the new label orders?
don't let the doctors 'pressure' you too much and don't be 'sensitive' if they 'label' you.

Hey Tonsil Boy,
The shopping trip sounds like alot of fun. When do we get to see the new hospital wear!?!?
Can we visit you at GBMC during your inpatient stay?
Thinking of you and the rest of the family as this unique journey begins. Homecoming has to be a must from now on. Great that we all got some time together. Looking forward to visiting with you.

Hi Tonsil Boy -

sounds like your first day went just "fine". Glad to hear that, thanks for the update and keep up the good work. By the way, was that a mask or a bag they put on you...were you a one bagger or two??

Hi Randy. Your blog is amazing! I contacted a friend of mine in Carlsbad CA who produces a daily prayer message that is e-mailed to people all over the country and asked her to add your name to her prayer list. So, God is hearing your name from far and wide, from many, many, many people. Keep the faith, we're all thinking of you. Love and take care, Lois Altoft

Mr. Randy,
Hey, its Matt Pierorazio. Its been a long time. Recently I went down to College Park and visited Mike, and through some discussion, heard about the diagnosis. I'm very sorry, but I know you'll beat it. Seriously though, you need to hurry up with your treatment because the deer population needs to be kept in check. You are most certainly in my family and my prayers.

Hey Mr. Randy,
Sorry it has taken me so long to write to you. I hear things are rough, but sounds like you are hanging in there. How much more treatment do you have? Has Mike been seeing you alot, or has he not had the time? I haven't been keeping in touch very well with him, let alone anyone. Engineering is quite tough and I pretty much sleep, go to class, eat, do work, and then do it all over it again. But I still love it here. My dad told me he tried to send you my roommate's and my video. Did you get it? If you didn't, just let me know and I can send it to you via instant messenger. Hope to hear from you soon. I'll see you over thanksgiving. Miss you and the rest of the Fine's. I'm thinking and praying for you.

See you soon,
Nate
