Sorry I haven't updated

Sorry I haven't updated the blog sooner but I have had a lot on my plate lately. I am doing better every day! I ate my first meatball sub this week. It tasted great!!! The taste buds seem to be returning. A week and a half ago one of my doctors said I had thrush mouth again. It seems since I've been taken the meds for this and it's clearing up, food has been tasting better. Captain Mo tastes very good. Steak and meats seem to have no taste. Yesterday I had my first hot dog and 2 ears of corn at the Deugwillo's. My life again is full of firsts. As you can see swallowing is going wonderfully. Scratchy, rough foods irritate my mouth ulcers which still persist. I am down to 178 pounds and a size 34 pants. The doctors are concerned that I can't hold my weight. I like my small size.

My Mom was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. She is doing better with her pain under control and will be discharged Tues. The cancer can't be cured. They just want to slow it down and make her comfortable. Please keep her in your prayers.

Thank you for your support, comments and prayers!!
Randy

Wow Uncle Randy, a meatball sub sounds fantastic! You seem to have made amazing strides this month. I'm so excited to hear about your progress.

On a different note, I'm so sorry that it is not going better with your mother. I've been praying for both of you and all your family.

Your perserverence and support for each other is truly amazing and I'm just so sorry for the struggles you've all been through.

Stay strong and know you are in my throughts and prayers!

All my love,
Carli

Hey Mr. Randy.

It's very cool and exciting to hear about the taste buds finally coming back. By the week of the beach, hopefully they'll be back so you can enjoy the vacation to the fullest.

I am so sorry about Mema (spelling? sorry). I've talked to Mom about it and it just makes me sick/sad to talk about it. I think of you guys all the time and just hope for the best.

Much Love, Emily

whew, i was beginning think you really didn't have any taste. maybe some of my world famous grilled bbq will speed up those taste buds.

they say milk is good for tummy ulsers, maybe it will work for mouth ulsers...with kahlua added of course.

glad to hear your mom is being made comfortable. not an easy thing to endure.

Randy,

Maintaining your weight is important, but I think your small size looks MAHVALUS!!!

Our prayers for you have been answered. Your mom is now in my prayers; comfort and love is what I wish her and you all as you face this most difficult time.

Let me know if you need anything...

Love, Kim
